Boundaries, or the way we interact with others, help define our relationships; they set limits for how we respond to and share information with those around us. Setting and maintaining healthy boundaries isn’t always easy but is essential for effective ministry.

Participants will learn the common types of boundaries in relationships, explore what drives personal relational styles, and discuss concrete strategies for modeling healthier boundaries in your own life.

Learning Outcomes

  4. Identify ways to model healthy boundaries in their own lives.

  1. How should I respond when I feel like someone is constantly invading my personal space? How can I respond in a way that is caring but clear and direct?
  2. If I consistently feel uncomfortable around a parishioner, how do I handle that? What can I do to make the situation better?
  3. Can people with unhealthy boundaries really change their behavior or learn to recognize the impact they have on others?
