Celibate chastity in the Catholic Church has many expressions: priesthood, consecrated virginity, religious life and the single life. Rev. David Songy, O.F.M.Cap., S.T.D., Psy.D. explores the nature of celibate chastity and then distinguishes the particular expressions of chastity in religious life and how this may be addressed in formation. After reviewing several specific examples of distinct qualities in expressions of celibate chastity in religious orders, participants will consider a process for developing this aspect of the formation curriculum.
