Overview

It is estimated that over sixty percent of the U.S. adult population experienced at least one traumatic event or situation as a child, and the emotional and spiritual impact can last well beyond childhood. What are some common signs that an adult has experienced childhood trauma? Why doesn’t it go away? What is the best way to respond to and support someone who trusts you with this information? Rev. Ken Schmidt, MA, LPC, NCC, explores the impact of childhood trauma and offers strategies for pastoral care.
