Tragic, violent events are in the news daily, and in the wake of the recent terrorist attacks and other incidents, many people feel overwhelmed and fearful. Priests, religious and lay ministers are called to care for and help heal those touched by terrorism and trauma. Rev. Msgr. Stephen Rossetti, D.Min., Ph.D., explores the psychological and spiritual impact of trauma on individuals and faith communities and offers strategies for navigating these difficult times.  He also discusses how our faith life can strengthen our ability to offer pastoral care in times of crisis.

Learning Outcomes

Participants will:

  1. Explore the psychological and spiritual impact of trauma on individuals and communities;
  2. Identify resources for helping others heal from trauma; and
  3. Learn strategies for relying on our faith as a source of strength and healthy self-care.

Priests, deacons, men and women religious, lay ministers, and those involved in vocations, formation, or clergy and ministry personnel needs.
