Rev. Paul Scaglione, M.Div., and Emily R. Cash, Psy.D., discuss the unique role of the spiritual director as assessor and team member in the psychological evaluation process.
The Saint Luke Institute Candidate Assessment Protocol (SLI-CAP) features an extensive spiritual assessment to explore the candidate’s religious beliefs and practices and his or her understanding of the discernment process. This process helps spiritual directors determine whether a candidate has the willingness and capacity to enter into a formation experience that will foster spiritual growth and support long-term, healthy ministry. Trained spiritual director and SLI staff member Rev. Paul Scaglione, M.Div., and Emily R. Cash, Psy.D., director of the Saint Luke Institute candidate assessment program, discuss the unique role of the spiritual director as assessor and team member in the psychological evaluation process.
This is the second presentation in a three-part training series.
Participants will:
Psychologists, spiritual directors and other mental health professionals involved in psychological screening of candidates for Catholic ministry.
