The presentation examines what the Catechism of the Catholic Church teaches about celibate chastity and applies it to our understanding of human freedom and healthy sexual integration. The aim of the session is to help clergy and religious and those in formation see that our first calling is to be fully human, and that living authentic celibate chastity is how we respond to the Lord’s gift of life and love placed within us.
This presentation highlights how the Catechism offers a clear foundation and encouragement for living healthy celibate chastity. Fr. Byrne offers suggestions for healthy ongoing psychosexual development for those living out ordained and vowed ministry within the Church.
